The World Federation of Chiropractic was established at the World Chiropractic Congress in Sydney, Australia in 1988. The voting members of the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) are national associations of chiropractors in 90 countries – The WFC represents them and the chiropractic profession in the international community.

Past WFC Education Conferences have been in Fort Lauderdale, USA (2000); São Paulo, Brazil (2002); Toronto, Canada (2004); Cancun, Mexico (2006); Beijing, China (2008); Madrid, Spain (2010); Perth, Australia (2012); Miami, Florida, USA (2014); Montréal, Canada (2016); London, UK (2018).

The Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) serves as the collective voice of chiropractic education. Through programs and services, the ACC strengthens and promotes the chiropractic identity and mission of its member institutions so that all associated with chiropractic education can contribute to the world's health and wellness.

In 1998, the WFC held a first international conference for chiropractic educational institutions and authorities. Held in Manila, Philippines this Conference resulted in the awareness of a surge in international growth of the chiropractic education as well as the need for regular international meetings to protect and enhance the character of chiropractic education globally. Consequently, the WFC and ACC decided to jointly hold an international education conference every two years.
