Efstathios Papadopoulos
(Eastern Mediterranean)
Efstathios Papadopoulos DC, FFEAC, FICC (popularly known as Stathis) represents the Eastern Mediterranean region on the Board of the WFC and is a Past President.
Stathis is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa (1981). He practices in the capital city of Cyprus, Nicosia and serves as President of the Cyprus Chiropractors Association.
One of the pioneers of chiropractic in Cyprus, Stathis was instrumental in the initiative to register chiropractors in Cyprus in 1991. He has represented the Eastern Mediterranean region on the Board of the WFC since 1992 and is its longest-serving member, including a term as president from 2008 - 2010.
For many years, Stathis has served on the General Council of the European Chiropractors’ Union (ECU) and served on the Executive Council as First Vice-President to 2009.
Stathis is the Founding President of the East Mediterranean Middle East Chiropractic Federation (EMMECF). In this role he works with chiropractors in emerging nations, who often work in challenging environments within a region where conflict is frequent and prolonged.
Stathis has served in many other leadership positions with chiropractic organizations, including the European Council on Chiropractic Education and the International advisory committee of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE). He was instrumental in the formation of the International Board of Chiropractic Examiners (IBCE) and the European Academy of Chiropractic (EAC), the academic arm of the ECU dedicated to the promotion of post graduate chiropractic education and research in Europe.
